pest-control

Sliver-fish is a slender, wingless insect,8 to 12 mm long with long bristles at the posterior end. It is shiny and silver or pearl gray in colour. It quickly darts to cover when disturbed.

These insects are active at night, and usually hide during the day. Silver- fish live in damp, cool places particularly in basements. They crawl along pipelines and through the openings in the wall or floors. They may be found in any part of the house. Sliver-fish cause damage in homes by eating materials that are high in protein, sugar or starch. They eat cereal, moist wheat flour, any paper on which there is glue or paste, starch in clothing, and rayon fabrics. They may make small irregular shaped holes in linen, cotton and artificial silk porches.
