A female bed bug lay eggs in cracks and crevices. These may be where parts of a bed are joint together around the seams of a mattress or in a suitcase touching the end of a bed. Bedbugs feed on blood usually human blood and their bites may cause severe itching .They avoid the light and are seldom seen dung day time. They bite unexposed areas e.g. stomach, back and thighs. The bites are not felt immediately but swelling and irritation increases during the week. Evidences of bedbug infestation are black or brown spots on surfaces where the bugs have been resting these spots are digested blood. There is usually an offensive odour in rooms where heavy infestation of bedbugs found.Bedbugs are objectionable also because they soil bed linens and mattresses. However It never has been proved that they are disease carriers.
